Which Car Key Do I Have?
A key cover has to match the shape, button count and closing mechanism of your original car key. Unlike a phone, the key itself carries no model name printed on it — the fastest way to identify the right type is by shape and button layout.
Three steps to the right type
- Count the buttons. Most keys have 2, 3 or 4 buttons (for example lock, unlock, boot, panic).
- Flip key or smart key? A flip key (remote key fob) has a metal blade that folds out. A smart key is compact, usually has no visible blade, and the car unlocks automatically once the key is nearby (keyless entry/go).
- Match make and model. Use the table below to find your vehicle's key shape.

FAQ
What's the difference between a flip key and a smart key?
A flip key has a metal blade that folds out of the fob to unlock the door mechanically. A smart key usually has no visible blade and communicates with the car wirelessly, so doors (and sometimes the engine) can be unlocked and started without pressing a button (keyless entry/go).
Why does the button count matter for a cover?
The cut-outs for the buttons are fixed in the cover. With the wrong button count, they won't line up with the real buttons and the key becomes unusable through the cover.
