Which iPhone or Galaxy Do I Have?
"iPhone 16" is not the same as "iPhone 16 Pro Max", and "Galaxy S24" is not "Galaxy S24 Ultra" — the case dimensions differ even though the names sound similar. Both manufacturers show the exact model directly in Settings.
iPhone: find your model and model number
Open Settings > General > About. The model name is shown at the top of the page. Next to "Model Number" a part number appears first; tap it to reveal the actual model number (it starts with "A", e.g. A3090).

For current line-ups (iPhone 16, 16e, 17, 17e, Air, and the 18 Pro/Pro Max, which share the 17 Pro/Pro Max shape) the model number also starts with "A3" — the exact digits are most reliably read straight from your device's Settings: iPhone 16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17, 17 Pro / 18 Pro, 17 Pro Max / 18 Pro Max, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e / 16e.
Samsung Galaxy: find your model and model number
Open Settings > About phone (on older devices: Status). The model name and model number are listed there; Samsung model numbers always start with "SM-". Dialling *#06# also shows the IMEI and serial number.

Why does Settings show a "part number" instead of the model number first?
Apple shows an internal part number first. Tapping it reveals the actual model number, starting with "A", which is what matters for matching a case.
Isn't the product name "Galaxy S24" specific enough on its own?
No. "Galaxy S24", "S24+" and "S24 Ultra" have different case dimensions and need different cases — the model number under About phone confirms exactly which one you have.
My phone won't turn on — where else can I find the model?
On iPhone and many Galaxy models, the model designation is also printed in small text on the SIM tray or on the original retail box.
